Work-From-Home Recaps

WFH Week 8 – No Good Deed Goes Unpunished

Did you know this post was part of a seriesCheck out all of my WFH recaps here!

I’ve been fairly content this week, surprisingly enough. After nearly 2 months of working from home, I finally feel like I’ve established a comfortable routine. Mornings are still my favorite, with all its fresh, morning air crispness coupled with the short-lived sense of optimism, a bowl of oatmeal, and a cup’a tea. In fact, I encourage you to stop reading! Brew yourself a nice cup of tea, pour it in your favorite mug (this is currently my favorite) and then sit back to read this post.

Leggings, tights and jeggings – Oh my!

When you work from home, and honestly even when you work from an office, comfort is key! If you’re gonna sit in them pants for 8 hours or more, they better not cut off your circulation. To this end, I’ve been wearing almost exclusively my favorite, cheap pair of tights I bought from Lidl. I have several pairs but my most worn black ones have considerably more air circulation than they did originally thanks to a few small, but noticeable, holes. Ever since then, I’ve been on the hunt for a quality pair of leggings, jeggings or tights that won’t break the bank. I recently ordered a pair from Asos and they wore out faster than my 3-year old underwear. *sigh* I wish I could say I found a pair to recommend to you all but alas, it is I who doth looketh for recommendations. So, if you have them, leave them in the comments asap! Because lounging in jeans is simply not acceptable.

Looking forward to my evenings

Even though my evening routine hasn’t changed much in the last 2 months (or in the last 2 years if I’m being honest) I still look forward to the final chapter of my day as though it’s new and exciting each time. I usually take my pup for a quick stroll and then lay my fat arse on my cozy couch for an evening of Netflix, dog cuddles, video games and snacks. As an introvert and expert homebody, I honestly feel this is the absolute best way to spend an evening. Sometimes, if I’m feeling particularly adventurous, I’ll take my dog to the park or facetime with a friend.

No good deed goes unpunished

Last weekend I was feeling particularly productive. I had meditated with my meditation group, taken a shower, vacuumed, taken Rosie to a new park and I figured that now was the optimal time to finally vacuum my car. I felt so accomplished afterwards that I didn’t do a damn thing for the rest of the day. The next day, Rosie and I had plans to drive to a different park but no such luck. My car battery was dead. Mind you, this is a new car that I’ve had since only last year. The roadside assistance guy looked at me judgingly asking if I had left something on. Listen guy, let’s not place blame here, okay? I just vacuumed my car and wiped everything down with Lysol. Who knows what I accidentally turned on and left on? This just goes to show that no good deed goes unpunished.

Happy Mother’s Day

Lastly, I want to take a moment to wish all of the mothers, including all of the pet moms out there, a very happy mother’s day! I hope you all get to celebrate it despite the crummy conditions at the moment. And if not, I hope you know that you are loved and appreciated!

Overall, I had a pretty good week. How about you? Are you finding your groove slowly? And more importantly, where can I find a quality pair of leggings??? Let me know in the comments.
